TWINKLE LITTLE STAR

In the warmer areas of California, the Colombard grape thrives, where this versatile variety produces balanced, fruity wines with the rare ability to hold on to their lively acidic backbone. Cultivated in Southwest France for time immemorial, the variety was first brought to California in the 1850s and has been a staple of white wine production ever since.

Until recently, Colombard was known mostly as a blending grape, little more than the twinkle in the eye of the few adventurous winemakers who enterprised to bottle it on its own, to allow full expression of its varietal charm. The last decade has seen a resurgence in focus on this under-appreciated variety, and Twinkle French Colombard aims to express its true standing as one of California’s true heritage white wines.
