WINE ADVENT CALENDAR
Did you know that Colombard is one of the most widely cultivated white grape varieties? If so, you are probably a brandy drinker, as it represents the backbone of Cognac production. However, many important dry whites are also made from this historic variety, found in some of the best quality-to-price propositions anywhere.
Twinkle French Colombard features citrus and tropical fruit aromas, and a super-focused, crystal-clean palate. Lime, grapefruit and melon notes abound on the palate, chased by a brisk, refreshing finish. Twinkle is refined and electric on the palate, leaving the drinker thirsty for more.

TWINKLE LITTLE STAR
In the warmer areas of California, the Colombard grape thrives, where this versatile variety produces balanced, fruity wines with the rare ability to hold on to their lively acidic backbone. Cultivated in South-West France for time immemorial, the variety was first brought to California in the 1850’s and has been a staple of white wine production ever since.
Until recently, Colombard was known mostly as a blending grape, little more than the twinkle in the eye of the few adventurous winemakers who enterprised to bottle it on its own, to allow full expression of its varietal charm. The last decade has seen a resurgence in focus on this under-appreciated variety, and Twinkle French Colombard aims to express its true standing as one of California’s true heritage white wines
VARIETAL COMPOSITION: 100% Colombard
WINEMAKING PROCESS: Referred to as “a double fin” (dual purpose) in France due to its ability to make great whites and brandy, the Colombard grape rewards a short maceration and cool fermentation, to extract as much varietal character as possible while still retaining freshness. Twinkle is aged in stainless steel before being carefully bottled before the following harvest.
