Much of the history of California winemaking centers around the re-thinking of familiar Old-World grape varieties, re-booting their story as told in the sandy-clay soils of Coastal California. No need to follow a viticultural script in California, with wines like Shiraz you can wing it - and Freestyling is the best way to go! Our California Shiraz represents the New World, juicy, plummy and fruity side of this prized grape variety.
This wine pours a dark, purple color that appears like a reflection of its dark-fruited soul. Soaring floral aromatics of violet and lavender lead to blackberry, blueberry and cocoa flavors on the palate, delivered by means of a creamy-textured, powerful, smooth and balanced wine.

The Shiraz grape is legendary in its ability to adapt to its local environment, and produce a wine in that specific location that tastes like no other Shiraz in the world! With Freestyling, the aim was to capture this dynamic spirit and produce a wine that speaks to the incredible diversity of Shiraz flavors.
While known as both Syrah and Shiraz in the New World, we chose the latter for Freetsyling as it better suits the style – a plump, voluptuous, hedonistic wine that is easy to like and hard to put the glass down. Therein lies the beauty of Freestyling - the ability of the celebrated Shiraz grape variety to do magical things, no matter what you call it.
VARIETAL COMPOSITION: 100% Shiraz
WINEMAKING PROCESS: While yesterday’s Syrahs were rough, rugged ones with angular tannins and a green streak on the palate, today’s talented California winemakers have learned a thing or two about working with this finicky variety - allow the grapes to ripen properly on the vine, control for oxidation in the cellar and gently extract Syrah’s grippy tannins. Twinkle was carefully made in this tradition, and the result is a fruity wine, with supple tannins and a long, jammy finish.
